HARCA offices

This project, on site at the moment, is a renovation of Wyatt MacLaren's previous design, a café at the Bromley-By-Bow Centre, constructed in 2001. Approx 1/3 of the café space is now to house new HARCA housing staff offices. This is in line with the Centre ethos of being a 'one-stop Hub' for the whole community. The arrival of HARCA housing staff increases the services on site to Health, Arts, Employment, Enterprise, Housing, Childcare, Community Care... and many more activities.

The café had been constructed with a long 'feature' bar in curving black granite, providing a continuous surface drawing your eye between street side and park behind. The new design required this bar to be cut at one point- see 'Section' photo opposite. The proposed design incorporates a large square clear window in the new partition, retaining and framing the visual link between street and park.
